This is hard for me to share, Reader.
(But I truly believe God allows me to walk through hard moments so I can hold space for others walking through the same.)
I had a moment this week. A moment of not enoughness.
Who am I to live my dreams? Who am I to start a business? Who am I to market my journals? Who am I to change people's lives?
And truth be told, it ran so deep, I started crying.
It didn't start that way. The day started with anxious thoughts about everything I needed to do for my dream. Then the to-do list turned into anxiety. Before I knew it, I was tapping on my chest (it's what I do when I feel anxiety coming on), breathing deep, making those loud "voo" sounds, trying to calm my nervous system.
But I knew it was deeper than that.
It brought me right back to another moment in my life when I felt not enough. When I asked that same question: who am I?
So I let myself be alone. I breathed. I felt the feelings that were coming up. I let the tears come. And I held that part of me, that little girl, who felt like she wasn't enough.
Mama, if that's you today, if you're looking at your dreams, your kids, your business, your life and quietly wondering whether you're enough to have all the abundance and more, I want you to know something.
You are not alone.
And you don't have to fix the feeling or rush past it. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop, sit with it, and let it be. Put your hand on your heart. Breathe. Let the tears come if they need to. That's not falling apart. That's your body asking you to slow down and listen.
Here's what I came back to:
These moments don't define us. They shape us into who we were created to be.
Only God knows our path. And that's what makes everything better. It's not ours to carry. We can hand it over and trust Him with the outcome. Because once we surrender, we know we'll be okay.
So today, I'm not asking you to push harder or prove anything. I'm inviting you to try this:
• Notice where you feel "not enough" in your body.
• Take three slow, deep breaths into that space.
• Ask yourself: How old was I the first time I felt this way? And what does that version of me need to hear right now?
• Then say it to her.
You are enough, mama. Right here, in the middle of the mess and the dreams and the tears. You always have been.
With so much love and gratitude 🙏,
Josie
